About C. John Archer
C. John Archer is a thirty-two year old aspiring novelist, short story writer, sports writer, film critic and screenwriter from the West Midlands, United Kingdom.
With an interest in all things entertainment related, particularly film and literature, he has been an active contributor to a number of publications both online and in-print. Through his love of film he has authored essays featured in the horror cinema publications Dr AC’s Horror 101 and Hidden Horror 101, edited by American actor, Aaron Christensen, while his lifelong support for Aston Villa Football Club has led him to become a former contributor to the Aston Villa fansite, UptheVilla.com and former semi-regular contributor to 90min.com.
Chris has also submitted several pieces to www.CultReviews.com run by Brussels-based cineaste and aspiring filmmaker, Gert Verbeeck.
Additionally, he was selected to participate in the Follow II project, organised by journalist Declan Lynch. His screenplay, entitled Long Lost Father, a short-film detailing a young woman’s search for her estranged father in Ghent was directed by Belgian television actor Vincenzo De Jonghe and premièred at the 41st Flanders International Film Fest Ghent in October 2014.
Chris is currently working on his debut novel, Lone Wolf, a grimdark science-fiction novel set in a hostile future galaxy and the first instalment in his long-planned Dawn’s Light saga.. Chris previously released a collection of short-stories set in the Dawn’s Light fictional universe, entitled Before the Dawn’s Light. During his downtime he can be found indulging his other interests which in addition to those mentioned include video games, classic rock music and following rugby and ice hockey. Chris also has qualifications in sociology and humanities.
